Wheelhouse Creative Adds Veteran Reporter to Talented Team
Wheeling, W. Va. – Wheelhouse Creative announces the addition of award-winning journalist Mitch Vingle to its talented team of creative professionals. Vingle brings over 38 years of writing experience to the team.
Whether as a beat writer for WVU sports, a sports editor of the Morgantown Dominion Post and Charleston Gazette or award-winning columnist, his stories have always been factual. His voice has been strong. He most recently won back-to-back 2016 and 2017 W.Va. Press Association awards as the state’s best columnist.
And now he’s coming to Wheelhouse Creative, LLC in Wheeling.
Vingle is joining Wheelhouse to assist the firm and their clients with writing, public relations and business development.
“We’re very proud to add Mitch to our talented team,” said Wheelhouse President Jamie Bordas. “His knowledge and love of West Virginia, his vast contacts and years of traversing the state will serve us and the region well. We also very much look forward to his award-winning writing to enhance the first-class service we provide to our clients.”
Vingle, a West Virginia University graduate, lives in Glen Dale, from where he’s been covering the Mountaineers, both home and away, in football and basketball.
In addition to his numerous awards throughout the years from the W.Va. Press Association and Pa. Press Association, Vingle has been serving as the state’s Associated Press Top 25 college football voter. He’s also voted on honors like the Heisman Trophy and Wooden Award.
Vingle has been an annual contributor to Athlon magazine and guest on the WVU pre-game IMG football show.
For years, Vingle was a co-host of the “Sports Page of the Air” radio show in Charleston and hosted his own sports talk shows. Before that, he was a regular guest on Tony Caridi’s statewide show.
In the past, Vingle served as president and vice-president of the state Sports Writers’ Association; was a member of the WVU Journalism Alumni Board; and helped with organizations like Make-A-Wish and The Leukemia Society.
