The Project – Nail Ale
Embarking on a journey fueled by creativity and collaboration, the Nail Ale label stands as a testament to months of meticulous concepts, designs, and brewing expertise. This venture marks an exhilarating collaboration between Big Timber Brewing Company and the Wheeling Nailers hockey team, and today, I’m thrilled to delve into the artistic nuances that elevate Nail Ale to a cherished project within our portfolio.
The Design
Nail Ale, a Golden Lager proudly brewed in the heart of West Virginia, emerges as a visual symphony inspired by the iconic colors of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The harmonious dance of black and gold on the label creates a design that seamlessly bridges the gap between the timeless and the contemporary, echoing the spirit of both craft beer and hockey.
Venturing into the heart of the label, typography takes center stage as the unsung hero. Sharp, clean lines set the tone for the entire design, embodying precision akin to a well-executed play on the ice. The integration of the Wheeling Nailers logo goes beyond a mere brand mark—it becomes a narrative, skillfully interwoven without overpowering the overall aesthetic.
Adding an extra layer of artistry, the names of past Nailers players grace the design, paying homage to the rich history of the team. This subtle tribute adds depth and storytelling to the label, making it not just a visual feast but a journey through the annals of hockey greatness. And let’s not forget the La Belle Nail Factory, an industrial nod that anchors the concept to the team’s historical roots.
